Mobile Elevated Platforms (MEWPs)
The aim of the course is to: Provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating Mobile Elevated Working Platforms.
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and accepted good practice. • Be able to operate machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and accepted good practice • Site and operate machine safely in relation to task • Be able to carry out minor adjustments and routine services. • Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Order & other current relevant legislation.
Who do we recommend attends the course? All personnel required to operate a Mobile Elevated Work Platform
Telescopic Handler Forklift
The aim of the course is to: Provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating the Forklift safely.
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and accepted good practice. • Carry out a pre-shift inspection. • Be able to load and unload vehicles and static racking. • Understand the causes of instability of the truck and loads. • Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Order & other current relevant legislation.
Who should attend the course? All personnel required to operate a Forklift Truck.
Dump Trucks
The aim of the course is to: Provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating a site Dumper or Rear Tipping Dump Truck.
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and accepted good practice. • Understand the causes of instability of the truck and the load. • Carry out a pre-shift inspection. • Be able to operate safely under varying site conditions. • Be able to position the vehicle for loading from and dumping into excavations etc.. • Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Order & other current relevant legislation.
Who do we recommend attends the course? All personnel required to drive a Dump Truck.
Abrasive Wheel/Cutting Discs Stihl Saw
The aim of the course is to: Train operators in the safe mounting and selection of Abrasive Wheels and Cutting Discs.
Course Duration 1 day. This will dependant on the types and number of pieces of equipment that is to be covered.
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and accepted good practice. • Select and mount the appropriate disc for the work practice that is taking place. • Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Order 1978 NI & other current relevant legislation.
Who should attend the course? All personnel required to operate portable grinders, bench grinders, Stihl Saws etc.
NRSWA - General Operatives
The aim of the course is to: Enable operatives to gain the necessary qualifications (Up to 5 groups can be gained ) under the New Roads and Streetworks Order 1995 NI to allow them to carry out their duties on the public highway, ranging from excavation to permanent re-instatement of paved structures. Course Duration Depends on units of accreditation required.
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Gain skills and knowledge to fulfil duties required by the Roads and Streets Works Order 1995 NI. • Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Order 1978 NI & other current relevant legislation.
Who should attend the course? The law requires that at least one operative in any squad must have gained the required qualification/s in the aspect of the work being undertaken.
NRSWA - Supervisor
The aim of the course is to: Enable supervisors to gain the necessary qualifications (Up to 5 groups can be gained) under the New Roads and Streetworks Order 1995 NI to allow them to carry out their duties on the public highway, ranging from excavation to permanent re-instatement of paved structures.
Course Duration Depends on units of accreditation required.
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Gain skills and knowledge to fulfil duties required by the Roads and Streets Works Order 1995 NI • Be able to supervise operatives to ensure that the quality of re-instatement etc. meets with the required standards. • Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Order 1978 NI & other current relevant legislation.
Who should attend the course? To comply with the law there must be a qualified supervisor available to supervise in the aspect of the work being undertaken.
Unit 2: Signing Lighting and Guarding (Operative) The aim of the course is to: To provide the candidates with a knowledge and understanding of the legal requirements to enable them to follow the procedures for setting out Signing and Guarding of an Excavation on the Highway.
Course Duration 1 day
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Identify various types of signing and guarding • Recognise the safety procedures required • Assess the legal requirements
Who should attend the course? Operatives who are engaged in road works.
Unit 10: Signing Lighting and Guarding (Supervisor)
The aim of the course is to: To enable the candidates to be aware of the procedures and legal requirements when Signing and Guarding excavation works on the Highway.
Course Duration 1 day
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Identify various types of signing and guarding • Monitor safety procedures • Assess the legal requirements
Who should attend the course? Supervisors who are responsible for their operatives in setting up safe road works, before and during excavation work.
Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus
The aim of the course is to: Provide the candidates with a knowledge and understanding of the safety procedures and precautions before and during excavation work.
Course Duration 1 day
The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: • Select typical site plans • Identify underground apparatus • Use pipe and cable locaters
Who do we recommend attends the course? Personnel who are engaged in the excavation of ground works.
Aluminium Mobile Access Tower
The aim of the course is to: To Instruct a delegate to safely erect, move, inspect and dismantle Mobile Access Towers.
Course Duration ½ day
The objectives of the course is to ensure delegates can: • Safely erect, move, inspect and dismantle Mobile Access Towers.
Who should attend the course? All personnel required to erect, move, inspect or dismantle Mobile Access Towers.
